Spiders play a part in Halloween decorations and there are a number of ways to use them as I am going to show here.
This first example is a table runner. Whilst it is on the www.marthastewart.com website to buy, it would be easy enough to make. The fabric can be found in C&H Fabrics. Check online for a store near you.
These 'cute' spiders are made from egg boxes and pipe cleaners. An easy project for the children to make during the half term holiday.
The following idea is from the Martha Stewart website and can be found here - http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/halloween-decorating?#slide_2 - spiders on sills.
...and here is another spider idea - http://www.grandinroad.com/jump.jsp?item=35337&maincatcode=null&subcatcode=null&itemID=21749&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C2759%2C5794%2C5797&iProductID=21749 - spider silhouettesPlastic spiders can be found in supermarket stores - generally with webbing. I bought a pack which included both for just 40p in Tesco.

I 'laid in wait' to capture this photo of an unsuspecting fly! There were several webs in the Honeysuckle bush on my patio and many flies were around. It had to happen - and sure enough...
GOTCHA!

With speed, the spider ran down on a thread and hastily bound it's victim. That's lunch sorted! LOL.
My friend's son has a tarantula spider.

WARNING! Spider Alert.
I shall be showing several photos of real spiders hereafter.
Like I have mentioned before....spiders and their webs fascinate me and make good cause for me to take photos of them. This web shows just how much work goes into making one and I LOVE the way it glistens in the sun.

My friend's son has a tarantula spider. Meet Godfrey!
It's not the first time that I have held a tarantula. It was at a circus 13 years ago and I couldn't believe then, that I actually volunteered to go into the circus ring and lay on the bench whilst the lady placed a HUGE tarantula spider on my hands!
I got brave and decided to put it on my shoulder!
Look. Even my then 10 year old grandson was happy to hold him!

There is an online website that you can make a fake magazine cover and so, with the above photo, I did just that.
Remember in one of my earlier posts, I mentioned that I have a few surprises 'up my sleeve'?! Well... Godfrey is going to be a guest of honour at my KWA Halloween party!! Yep. He will be staying in his glass house but will be perfect for my props. The glass house has a red light, so it will give a lovely glow....and I can just hear my friend's squeal....hopefully with delight!!! I'll report that in another post.

I am really not sure of the neck shot ... nothing wrong with your neck ... I am just not keen on Godfrey's proximity to it... otherwise that is going to be one great party ... Have fun!
