So far we have covered lots of Halloween ideas for decorations, costumes, jokes, crackers and treats but not tricks. I don't remember having anyone cast a spell or deliver a trick to me, nor have I ever delivered a trick to anyone but what are 'tricks'? Maybe you would like to leave me a comment and give me any ideas of what you have done or received. I would be interested to read about your experiences.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, my dear friend's mum died a couple of weeks ago and so our year long planning has been cancelled due to her mum's funeral next Monday - 2 days before our party. It would be difficult to celebrate at such a time that we are mourning the loss of a lovely lady. I knew her for 50 years.
In the meantime, I thought that you might like to see some of the 'eeeksome' ideas that I have been planning and will now save for next year!
First up....comes.....Boris! Boris my butler has been a great asset to me. I bought him in Asda last year and he has been worth every penny. I named him Boris. Last year he was £60 and this year I see that he costs £70!
There is another one for sale in Tesco this year - a little old man but equally useful to have around. He too cost £70.
My friend's son has a tarantula spider and I asked him if I could borrow Godfrey for the occasion. Fortunately, he said I could and I assured him that he would be kept in his glass house that has a red light on the top. I guess that would make it look even spookier! I have met Godfrey before and we became acquainted a couple of years ago, so he wouldn't be a stranger to me!
Some ideas of 'tricks' are to 1) fill the bath with water and float black candles on the top with some plastic spiders. 2) place a pair of boots or shoes under the bottom of a long curtain, so they are peeking out underneath. 3) Place a fake hand behind the toilet bowl. 4)Spread some crispy cereal under a rug. When people walk over it, they will get a surprise from the sounds underfoot. 5) Create a crime scene on your front path. Get someone to lie on the ground and using a piece of white chalk, draw around them. Place 'do not enter' yellow tape around the area. (Available from Tesco).
I have another 'trick' up my sleeve. A friend did some 'trick' photography with some photos I had taken especially for the occasion. I shall keep it for nearer the time to Halloween. Keep checking in.
Have a great time planning your Halloween party.
Toots for now,
