Chain reaction!

I bought this neckless last week.

It was £9.99 reduced to £2.49! I wouldn't wear something like this - therr...but I didn't buy it to wear! *Ü* I bought it for the amount of chains that are on it and the rose 'bud' inside the outer petals will make a nice embellishment for a Halloween layout.

On QVC yesterday, there were chains in the Tim Holtz range that were a lot more pounds for a short length, so I was more than pleased with my purchase. *Ü* I love the chains with the diamonds. Talk about value for money.

Don'tcha just love a bargain?

Bon jour!

Bon jour mon amies! *Ü* . I have caught the French bug and have been captivated by the abundance of French influences that are around right now. Scrapbook trends are following towards the Eiffel Tower and all things Oo la la. Prima and Graphic 45 for example, have a line of papers with the Eiffel Tower on.

Whilst visiting my father in law in the past few days, I paid a visit to the town and found this in The Card Factory...birthday cards with the Eiffel Tower on too - so I bought a few!

I have been busy with some new stash that I had awaiting me when I got home. I will post when I have finished my projects. It takes some time to take photos and load them on here. I'm not sure if I am going the long way round but I can only post 1 photo at a time and then when I go back to do another, the same photo is still in the 'box' and I then have to go to my blog to view before Blogger will allow me to browse a new photo - travelling back and forth!

Any suggestions for an easier method would be appreciated.

Charity shop finds!

I went shopping this week....to my favourite shops....charity shops! I do like the £1 shops too as there are some great bargains to be had and everything is just £1 - there is even a 99p shop and I went in those too! *Ü*

Here are my finds...

I LOVE this wooden box which I ummed and ahhed as to whether to get it then, or go back another day for it. I knew I would regret it if I went back and it was gone, so I bought it then. My immediate thoughts were to alter it with my pre-ordered Graphic45 Curtain Call papers. *Ü* I can't wait until they arrive. *Squeal*.

The drawer pulls out...

...and the lid lifts up. This box gives me the feeling that it has a story to tell. It certainly looks old and loved and it cost just £3.99 - bargain.

Also in the same charity shop was this beautiful medalion. At £1.90, I couldn't resist it but I did notice that one of the little gems is missing!

In another charity shop, I bought these 4 photo frames for £6.50 and I have already painted them with one coat - in red and they will hang in my kitchen with black and white photos in them. I will post them when they are finished.

Then I visited the 99p shop and Poundland and bought these....

Die cut shapes in about 4 or 5 different colours...

...and 2 packs of sequins in different colours in Poundland ... gold theme...

...and black theme - my favourite...

...and 2 other packs that I bought last year....pink...

...and pearl...

Also, I bought these 2 packs of voile in different colours and will use them for making and layering flowers.  

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Ikea and bought my long awaited Expedit unit! My 3 girlfriends gave me the money collectively for my 60th birthday last September but I don't live close enough to collect it - nor do I drive, so I had to wait until one of my family was able to take me. I am soo excited but I do have to finish the kitchen first before I start on my scrap room. The roof has been leaking and seeped through to the top room ceiling which will be my scrap room, so now the whole of the roof is being re-tiled - as I type.  So when the roof is finished,  I can then get to paint the room before I do a major organisation. It's going to be like one of those 'slidey' puzzles where you have to slide each 'tile' around to fit the tiles in some kind of picture/order! Stuff has to be moved to another room and scrap stash (that I seem to have in all rooms except the bathrooms!) will be shuffled around! Any offers of help will be gratefully appreciated! *Ü*

So last week, I sorted out my sequins and put them into my little Ikea jars. Just a small drop in the ocean but I am determined now I have everything except paint to get started. Any guesses as to what colours I have chosen for my scraproom?

Oh...I also bought this lovely metal jug which I saw in Wilkinsons last summer and wished I had bought it then - for just £4.97. When I went back this week, I was thrilled to find they still had some in stock - but in a different place! I imagine large pale pink peonies frothing out over the top, on the afternoon tea table in the summer! *Swoon*.

Enough shopping babble...I'm off to paint the next coat on my photo frames.

Cup hands....here comes Cadbury's!

LOL...do you remember the tv ad many years ago? I have been drinking Cadbury's hot chocolate since I was 10 years old! That's a very long time! *Ü*
Now, wherever I go, I always take my little concoction of chocolate mix with me - Cadbury's drinking chocolate and milk, so I can get hot water to add to it. Starbucks, Costa and all the big coffee shops don't do Cadbury's! When I go shopping to either Bluewater or Lakeside, I take my supply with me to make sure I get a drink of my desire! However, imagine my surprise to find a Cadbury Cocoa House - the only one in the country - in Bluewater! That was last December, so my family all being chocoholics, made plans to meet up in Bluewater last Saturday for a day of eats and treats - chocolate and shopping! Mmmm....what more could a girl want?

I will let the photos speak for themselves but let me tell you....whilst that mug of hot chocolate cost £3.50 - *gasp*... it was the most delicious tasting yumminess I have ever had in a 'cafe'! Grab yourself a napkin to mop your drool.

I had just a hot chocolate - no cream, and Michelle had made us all a chocolate marble cake - using Cadbury chocolate powder of course! That's what's in the little foil packages. The lighting was pants! I used both flash and without but the pics came out dark or dull!

There were chocolate posters all around on the walls...

Chocolate on the tables, chocolates in jars and on our way out....there were Roses chocolates to help yourselves to! *Sigh*. It's no wonder I like chocolate so much...my dear old mum (who is going to be 97 in May!), started work in Fullers chocolate factory when she was 14 and I share my birthday with George Cadbury!

I made this layout several years ago...I still love it today!
