Happy May Day!

May Day never comes around without me having a moment of association! It takes me back to my primary school days when we danced around a maypole!

A wonderful way to celebrate May Day you may think. However, for me, it conjures up memories of my lack of co-ordination and being upset that I messed up when it came to weaving the 'spider's web'!! Ugh!

I think the teacher may have gotten mad with me as I seem to remember that every Sunday evening for some time - (maybe possibly rehearsing the maypole dance on Monday mornings), I used to get a tummy ache so I didn't have to go to school. My mum soon sussed something was wrong and eventually had to go to the school to sort things out!

I have an uncomfortable feeling around that event. However, it also held happy memories as I did enjoy watching others - more than dancing. Maybe that's where I first became fascinated in spiders!!

Happy May Day to you and Happy National Scrapbooking Day.
Toots for now.

We went to Hastings yesterday to see Craigs parents and it was mobbed with morris dancers and people dressed up in green man costumes. Took me till today to realise why! Doh! The girls looked gorgeous in their little flowery head dresses we bought them, like little woodland nymphs :)
