Beside the seaside!

With the sun shining here this week and the temperature soaring, we found time to take a moment and visit a beach that we haven't seen before....we have only been in this house for 22 years!! LOL.

It was just a tiny bay but very peaceful and there was a little snack hut which provided a welcome ice cream whilst sitting and looking out from the promenade.

There is just something about the beach that I love. It's the smell of the fresh sea air, it's the sound of the seagulls that means 'freedom' to me. The sound of the waves, lapping upon the sea shore, the shells that are washed up onto the beach which has become one of my favourite summer past times - to seek those little homes of sea creatures that have otherwise moved on.

The promenade runs all the way around the bays.

The first touch of the sand since last summer. Ooo...I must paint my toenails! (The brand new sandals cost me 50p at a recent boot fair!) I LOVE them.

These stripey beach huts are so reminscent of an English summer on the beach.

Whilst I was strolling along the promenade and taking photos, I met a man who had found this 'stone'? Chalk? Fossil? Whatever it is, it is fascinating. He frequents the area and has found many.

This next photo gives me quite a sense of emotion. 'Free as a bird' is what I describe here. The rich blue of the sky as the background , with a seagull soaring over the cliff edge lifts my spirit.

Oh...I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside....which reminds me....I will post another KWA day of me and my 3 friends soon...'Beside The Seaside' is the theme. Call back soon.
Right....I'm off to do some grocery shopping....
... and for a Thornton's Toffee ice creammmm!

...and - then we are out for dinner tonight with daughter and family # 2. Yum.
Have yourselves a FABulous
Toots for now,

Hi Glen,
thank you for the very nice e-mail.
Love your beach pictures. Are the little huts like Cabana's? They are so cute, I just love them!

gret pics Glen, i love the seaside, we are 10 mins away by car but we rarely go. isn't it alwaya the way, you never use what is on the doorstep. I grew up 2 mins walk rom the beach, and would go there to 'get away' and to 'think' It holds special memories for me.

That fossil is great, i wonder what it is? and the beach huts are lovely.
