Beside the seaside!

With the sun shining here this week and the temperature soaring, we found time to take a moment and visit a beach that we haven't seen before....we have only been in this house for 22 years!! LOL.

It was just a tiny bay but very peaceful and there was a little snack hut which provided a welcome ice cream whilst sitting and looking out from the promenade.

There is just something about the beach that I love. It's the smell of the fresh sea air, it's the sound of the seagulls that means 'freedom' to me. The sound of the waves, lapping upon the sea shore, the shells that are washed up onto the beach which has become one of my favourite summer past times - to seek those little homes of sea creatures that have otherwise moved on.

The promenade runs all the way around the bays.

The first touch of the sand since last summer. Ooo...I must paint my toenails! (The brand new sandals cost me 50p at a recent boot fair!) I LOVE them.

These stripey beach huts are so reminscent of an English summer on the beach.

Whilst I was strolling along the promenade and taking photos, I met a man who had found this 'stone'? Chalk? Fossil? Whatever it is, it is fascinating. He frequents the area and has found many.

This next photo gives me quite a sense of emotion. 'Free as a bird' is what I describe here. The rich blue of the sky as the background , with a seagull soaring over the cliff edge lifts my spirit.

Oh...I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside....which reminds me....I will post another KWA day of me and my 3 friends soon...'Beside The Seaside' is the theme. Call back soon.
Right....I'm off to do some grocery shopping....
... and for a Thornton's Toffee ice creammmm!

...and - then we are out for dinner tonight with daughter and family # 2. Yum.
Have yourselves a FABulous
Toots for now,

WOYWW - Kim & Aggie!

to you all on this bright and sunny morning.
It's 7 am - or it was when I began typing this WOYWW.
The birds are chirping and I am full of the joys of spring! I have been all week.

Strange what the sun can do! I have been busy this week....and I guess you really want to see what I have on my workdesk, don't you?

You might be thinking - "Wow, those items look interesting. I wonder what the bicarbonate of soda can be used for in scrapbooking." You might be forgiven for thinking that the bleach is going to be used for a project as it is becoming commonplace in the scraproom but I'm sorry to say, that I don't have anything crafty to show you this week. This is what is on my desk!
You see, I have been feeling rather guilty since my 1st post and the dust and all, so I took a leaf out of Kim and Aggie's book and got to work *whispers* ( leaning). Not my scraproom I hasten to add but the kitchen. K & A would have been appalled if they had looked under my microwave oven! There were GERMS and plenty of them!

My oven was as dirty and tips from K & A's shows came in handy.

Now everything - in the kitchen is sparkling and I can now go to the ball! LOL.

The pineapple - that is my reward - as well as the ice cream....

when I sit to watch the semi final of tonight.....and of course, after I have checked out your blogs. Have a Wonderful Wednesday peeps.... and if you want to join in the WOYWW, go put yourself on the list over at Julia's blog.

Toots for now.....ohhh....and do help yourselves to the cookies to have with your mid morning break....I like to leave you a treat after all of your hard work.

My new Cats!

I LOVE boot fairs and charity shops and can always find a bargain - or 2. There wasn't much in the way of craftiness or alterable items this time but I did get a few bargains in the way of clothing and that is always a saving. These 'Cat' shoes are almost new and were just £1, my size and in my favourite shade of green right now. They are quite light in this photo but they are more a lime/light olive green.

The scarf has lots of autumnal colours and was also £1 and I got 3 v neck tops for £1.

For another £1, I bought a pair of hair straighteners - always handy for when my granddaughters come to stay and cannot fit another thing in their already overloaded holdalls!! I had to limit myself as I could have taken home another trunk load to add to my already bulging cupboards. It might be useful to have a boot fair of my own! Still, I know that my family will have a good rummage over my 'treasures' when I'm gone. That I can be sure.

Have yourselves a Magical Monday and do something nice for yourself.

The sun is shining here today and I am going to infuse myself with some much needed vitamin D!

I'm off to a boot fair tomorrow morning, so will be showing my looty from the booty over the weekend.

Have a good one everyone.....and thank you to all of you who has taken the time and made the effort to visit my blog and left lovely comments. There are still some chocolates left if you want to help yourselves!

WOYWW - Snoop and a rummage!

Firstly, I want to give a HUGE thank you to all of you who took the time and made the effort to visit my first WOYWW post last week. Thank you for all of your lovely comments and I managed to visit almost all of you but not quite. Phew!

What I did notice, is that you all like a good ol' snoop and a rummage. So, rather than show you my -still messy desk from last week, I thought you might like to have a nosey in one of my plastic containers that I keep my embellishments. I like to see what I have and at the same time, keep it free from all that dust! Know what I mean?

So, this is my miscellaneous metal box.

Still unopened...but I'm still waiting for that special project to use them on!! LOL.

My sister bought me these from a boot fair....for pennies!

I love these little metal letters on a ribbon.

Some really old stuff here. The little bracelet is from Primark and has lots of little charms - for £1.50! If it came from a scrapbook store, it would cost 3 times as much. The metal B is from an old Barbie bag. I'm waiting for a 'B' to join the family!! LOL.

I hope you have all enjoyed your rummage, now help yourself to as many chocolates as you like...just don't blame me for you messing up your work!

Have a good Wednesday and now hop over to Julia's blog for a snoop at everyone else's desk. (Thanks for the tutorial Julia)!

Toots for now and thank you so much for your visit.

PS. I don't know how to get my photos to enlarge. I would appreciate it if someone might be able to enlighten me please.
If you get a 'spare' 5 minutes, you might want to check out my previous post where I - and 3 of my bestest friends in the whole wide world get together every few weeks for a day of fun and laughter. It's back to the 50's on this occasion.
