WOYWW - Halloween invites

It's that time of year again when my dark side emerges and I get involved with all things Halloween! *Ü* This year, my 3 friends, my sister and I will be having a day together, celebrating Halloween with some spOOktacular surprises! I have been making the invitations and that is what is on my desk this morning. I made the background paper just by using some of my 3,000 fonts on my pc and chalking over the paper to give a distressed look....and then I inked the edges. Here are the 5 layered on top of eachother.

If you want to have a nosey on everyone else's desk today, pop on over to Julia's blog and leave your name with Mr Linky. Happy crafting.

What great invitations and I love the picture on the inside. Thanks for your comment on my blog and asking about the allotment, which is going very well and I am so pleased with the produce we grew in our first year, spuds, carrots, peas, beans, pumpkins, cut flowers, strawberries. Not too bad for a novice. Hope yours is going ok too and thank you for remenbering. Have a good day, Tracy Evans (29).

You really DO get into Halloween. I love that blog banner. I laughed before I even started reading your post.

To answer your rust question: for rusting nails or ANY METAL (all my metal I used in my previous posts were already rusty), find a container that will hold your pieces. Be sure nails or metal is NOT galvanized. It will rust, but it will take a LONG time to do so, unless you sand it first. To avoid that, just get metal that has not been plated or galvanized.

Back to the recipe: get that NON metal container and place your pieces in it, then, using FRESH vinegar (yep, vinegar gets "old" when it comes to rusting), pour it over the metal. Make sure your metal is completely covered, then add a tablespoon of salt to every cup of vinegar. This is not an exact science, so a bit more or less salt won't hurt a thing. Stir well, put a cover on your container, and wait a few days. This is not instant like rusting paper and fabric when you start with rusty pieces. Give it a good week, anyway. Hope that helps.

Great invitations and I love your new blog header. Had a friend at work who used to dress up and sit by the front door in a rocking chair, looking like a stuffed dummy until the kids came and rang the bell! Then he would move and they would run away screaming! One of the parents then came and complained that he was scaring the kids!! Thought that was the whole point!!!!!
