Boris is in the building!

It's almost time for my girlie day and I am sooo excited. *Squeal*. The house is almost ready, the food is almost ready....I say almost, as there are still a lot of last minute preparations to be done. However, Boris is in the building and out of his box ready to greet my guests with a welcoming drink - Swamp Sips! *Ü*

This is a photo of Boris - my butler from 2008....*Swoon*....he is just sooo helpful. LOL.

My sister is arriving from Devon today, so she will help with last minute things. For those of you who may not be up to date with my plans, my friends haven't seen my sister for about 45 years, so I have made a coffin fascia from a very large box, so my sister can stand behind it (to surprise them) - rather than lay in it.......I was even offered a real coffin by an undertaker that I know but I thought it would be too near the mark! Besides, my sister would be freaked out to lay in it but I am smiling now at the thought of my friend's faces as they heard a knock coming from the coffin to see my sister emerge! LOL.

We have to collect the tarantula spider today and it's owner told me when I called to confirm it's visit, that she now has a larger snake and 2 rats! Perfect! LOL.

Of course I shall be taking tons of photos - inbetween laughing and having fun watching faces of horror! *Ü* My friends know that I don't do things by halves and it will be interesting to see who is the bravest!

Coffin treat box

I'm a big fan of Martha Stewart and her website that gives no end of ideas for my Halloween party on Wednesday. I downloaded the coffin template here and made 5 coffin boxes. Then I printed off a death certificate from here, rolled it and tied it with ribbon to place in the box. I bought some issue paper from the £1 shop along with 5 skeletons for £1 and placed a portion of one sheet (which was enough) in the bottom of the coffin. Then laid the skeleton on the tissue and voila. The coffin is made with black card. I used the inner foil lid of a Cadbury's Drinking chocolate tub to make the gold inscription RIP on the lid. I then placed a skeleton hand that Helen bought for me in Poundworld as I couldn't get them down south!

I printed a death certificate for each of my guests and I shall place the coffins on their plates for lunch. *Squeal*.

Not your 'mummy's meatloaf!

I've gotten ahead on the cooking for my Halloween 'do' for Wednesday and I made a meatloaf! Welll....it's not your regular meatloaf but a spooky looking severed hand!

I can't take the credit for the actual idea but I made it using my own meatloaf recipe and a shop bought hand mould from Asda for just £1.

The finger nails are cut from a layer of onion and shaped, then placed under the meat fingers.

A chopped onion is placed in the end of the hand, so it resembles a severed wrist.

A thin layer of sliced cheese is laid on the top, so it colours and crusts up.

Once baked, it kind of looks like it is deteriorating, rotting flesh!

Yummy...

When I defrost and reheat it, I shall add some ketchup and place it on a bed of cooked kale - Swamp Slush, surrounded by mashed potato - Monster Mash.

I got the idea from this website and it's now in the freezer ready for my girlie day. *Squeal*....I am sooo excited. Can you tell?! LOL.

My little bat fairy!

I've been visiting my daughter and family for the past few days and have had a wonderful time with 3 of my grandchildren. Awww...they are so sweet and are always willing to pose for their 'Nanarazi' grandmother! Eden and Ashley both have new Halloween costumes for this year's family party and so we had a dress rehearsal seeing that I wasn't going to be there for Halloween. Little Miss Ashley has a fairy/bat/witch outfit and looked so cute. Eden has a punk witch costume and looks sooo...well, old for her age (she is just 11). Eek!

Ethan....well, he won't have an outfit until my other daughter arrives at the weekend as she and Cameron will be staying for the half term week and they will all be having a party - more fun. So, here is Ethan....with glasses - a sign of too much X boxing! He now has to wear them for tv and reading.

Whilst there, we also tested the brain mould...they LOVED it.

My preparations are coming along and all is confirmed that my sister is coming from Devon for my friends Halloween day. I am sooo excited. My friends haven't seen her for many years....like 45 years! LOL.....sooo...we are going to give them a surprise....and that is where the extra pair of pants will be needed - just in case! LOL. Remember the Halloween invites?!

More props for Halloween and I printed some labels from the Martha Stewart website. I inked them but you can leave them plain or colour them if you wish.

Let there be light!

I saw this idea on the Martha Stewart website last year and since I had some spent red candles stubs, I lit them and dripped the hot wax onto the white candles. Simples - but do be careful with matches and hot wax.

If the shoe fits....!

So I bought this shoe last year in the TKMaxx sale and I LOVE it....all twinkly and glittery in black. At just £6, it was a bargain - maybe I ought to have bought 2 - 1 is no good without the other! *Ü* It is about 12 inches in length.

My girlfriends have been out and bought their outfits for our KWA day on 27th October. They will all be witches too! Ohh...I can't wait for the fun to begin! *Squeal*.

There has been a lot of noise coming from the upstairs room....I think it must be Boris the butler 'rattling his cage'...trying to get out of his box...best go check him out!
