Sun, sand, sea & erm...Skate knobs!

We spent a couple of days of last week with father in law, as he still lives on his own and has Alzeimers Disease. The weather was so good that we decided to go to his beach hut that he has had for about 35 years.

First stop....the Fresh Fish Shop, where we bought....

Jellied Eels,
Plaice fillets and ....

Skate knobs! Yes, I wondered what they were too! LOL. They are the fillets from the Skate wings.

There are 30 fishing boats that go out daily to catch fish.

The variety of seafood was amazing....and if I lived closer, I would eat fish every day...if I could afford it that is. Some was more expensive than meat.

The fishmonger fillets a whole salmon.

Whelks waiting to be sold.

I asked for these scallop shells for a project I have in mind.

Then on to the beach hut...a typical seaside image.

Here's the man himself....enjoying one of his favourite pastimes - relaxing on the beach.
The fish - Plaice and Skate knobs were delicious and as there is a facility for cooking in the hut....we had mashed potato and peas to accompany.
Father in law decides to take a trip to the water's edge....and on his way back...I took this photo.
LOL....doesn't he look like Charlie Chaplin?!
We had ice cream from the ice cream van that hangs out on the beach.

This is mine....and I am glad that the photo is out of focus as I don't want to remember the taste!
It was FOUL...so - I threw it to ....the FOUL to feast on! I believe it may be the only ice cream that I have never finished - ever! It tasted like plastic. YUK!

There was a 'gull fest' a distance away from us - all in conference. I think they were making a plan! LOL.

Yep! Big Brother calls the clan!

...and they all fly in...including Ravens and Magpies!

...and that's when the fight started... Me thinks they weren't impessed!
...and this is what the magpies thought of it! LOL...

...and made a swift exit!
Back at the ranch....FIL sporting his new hair cut by moi... and looking the picture of health with his suntan.

A good time was had by all.
I hope the sun is shining for you today - wherever you live. Have a good one.

*****HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA*****

WOW...it is so hard to believe that I gave birth to my eldest daughter Lisa all of those years ago! I can remember so well, my 40th birthday and the birthday lunch I had with many of my friends.

Cameras and video camcorders - and now even greater technology has made it possible to live our lives over and over again - in the form of photographs and movies. These photos bring back many fond and wonderful memories of my beautiful daughter and the journey she has travelled to be aged 41 years old today.

Awww...the bobble hat...I loved that.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this photo of Lisa...soo cheeky. I also remember taking the photo and where we were and also the events and occasion around it.

I'm LOL at the tv...it was HUGE and so bulky. Lisa had a doll for her birthday on this occasion.
This photo was taken at my sister's home when she lived in Suffolk and she kept chickens. Lisa enjoyed collecting eggs.

This photo is of Lisa and......me!! Yep...I loved my hair back then in 1976. The 'Wedge'.
Ohhh...the memories.... This next photo was taken at Butlins in 1976. I had made each of our dresses all the same. Look at those 'platforms'!! LOL. Keeley - my youngest daughter, came 2nd in the 'Bonny Baby' contest....everybody say AWWWW!

....and finally....Lisa...all grown up.

That's all for now....until the next birthday that is!

WOYWW - Lisa's birthday card!

It's been a few weeks since I joined in WOYWW, so I thought I would bridge that gap and show you what's on my desk today. Not a lot! It will be my eldest daughter Lisa's birthday on Saturday....she will be 41!! WHAT! How can that be? I only got her out of nappies a couple of years ago!! LOL.
Ok... here it is.....standing....

...and lying flat.

I love black and white and so does Lisa. I decoupaged 'LISA' to make it stand out. Paper, butterfly and brads from a kit I bought in TKMaxx last year....might be Papermania...not sure. The black ribbon is from Hobbycraft.

If you have time to stop for breakfast....help yourself....there's plenty for everyone....if not...and I know you have to dash off to visit other WOYWW bloggers...... have a nice day... visit again soon.
